UFC 217 medical suspensions: GSP gets 45 days from NYSAC

UFC 217 at Madison Square Garden featured a bunch of knock down drag out battles, and the medical suspension list from the New York State Athletic Commission reflects that, with all 22 fighters getting at least a week off.

The longest suspension given was 90 days, which went to KO victims Aleksei Olenik and Firas Zahabi’s brother Aiemann. Georges St-Pierre got 45 days due to the lacerations taken from Michael Bisping’s elbows, and Stephen Thompson got the same amount for damage he took in his three round battle against Jorge Masvidal.

Pretty much everyone involved in a firefight got 30 days. That included Michael Bisping, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Johny Hendricks, and even Paulo Borrachinha. New champs TJ Dillashaw and Rose Namajunas managed to get off with 7 day suspensions.
