A featherweight tilt has been booked for December’s UFC 219 pay-per-view, as Myles Jury is set to take on Rick Glenn. The Las Vegas Review-Journal first reported the matchup, which UFC officials later confirmed.
Jury (16-2) returned from a 16-month layoff this past April, stopping Mike De La Torre in just 3:30 at UFC 210. The 28-year-old had suffered consecutive losses to Donald Cerrone and Charles Oliveira, of which the latter marked his move from lightweight to featherweight. “Fury” Jury holds notable wins over Diego Sanchez, Takanori Gomi, and Michael Johnson.
Glenn (20-4-1) is a former World Series of Fighting featherweight champion who made his UFC debut in September 2016, losing a Fight of the Night decision to Evan Dunham. That fight was accepted at lightweight on short notice, and the 28-year-old soon returned to the 145-pound division. After edging out Phillipe Nover by split decision, Glenn thrashed Gavin Tucker by extremely lopsided decision at UFC 215.
UFC 219 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, December 30th. No main event has been announced, but one of the most notable matchups booked for this fight is a bantamweight tilt between former champion Dominick Cruz and Jimmie Rivera.
